WILL PRESCRIPTION RIGHTS FOR CHIROPRACTORS SOLVE THE OPIOD CRISIS?
This letter is in response to an article published in the Spring 2017 PRIMARY CONTACT a publication about chiropractic from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College “The role of chiropractictic in 2017 – considering prescription rights and solutions to the opioid crisis”. It is evident from the tone of the article that the author is in support of Chiropractors gaining prescription rights. It is funny that the author has remained anonymous. Regardless, this response is addressed to the writer(s) of the latter article.
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Ali Ipchilar a 2003 graduate of NYCC. I was shocked and appalled when I read your article Monday evening upon my return from serving my practice members. You’ve done an excellent job giving one side of the argument that prescription rights are necessary for the “evolution” of Chiropractic. You mention:
“I encourage the thoughtful, deliberate debate of the prescription drug issue… A profession that refuses to consider change and that fails to acknowledge advancements made in the scientific understanding of the body is likely to become marginalized.”
I spend most of my free time figuring out how to get my patients to be the healthiest people in the world. Also, I spend significant amount of the remaining free time I have researching the history of Chiropractic. The only place I know to research the true history of Chiropractic is in the Green Books. They clearly show a pure description of the evolution and struggles Chiropractors went thru. I would strongly suggest the writer(s) of this article to start investing some of his/her free time reading what the founder of our profession wrote about prescription rights. This issue, in no way constitutes “advancements” as you mention. This has been going on since the beginning of our inception. Our profession is based on the simple premise that a Universal Intelligence is in all matter and continually gives to it all its properties and actions thus maintaining it in existence. It doesn’t say a Universal Intelligence is in all matter and continually gives to it all its properties and actions with the help of prescription rights from chiropractors.
Do you really think that if Chiropractors get prescription rights it will solve the opioid crisis? Do you think Medical Doctors want Chiropractors to prescribe drugs? Do you think that we should then start doing spinal surgery? Don’t you feel it would be in the best interest of the public and Chiropractic to focus our energy on teaching people to live healthy? Do you feel that “mixing” different treatment is in the best interest of the patient? Do you think that a doctor of acupuncture is better trained at doing acupuncture or a Chiropractor that took several weekend courses? Do you think that your patients have pain because of a lack of opioids, NSAIDS, etc.? How do you feel about massage therapist or physiotherapists to take weekend courses so they can “manipulate” the spine?
All Chiropractors must spend their free time reading what our founder and developer did to get us all to be ChiropracTORs today. These green books are an excellent way to get in the mindset of a great leader and developer. If you question the principle then you don't understand the principle. You have been over educated to think that whatever is not in our current medical textbooks is wrong and if this principle is so true why do medical doctors and all other health practitioners not believe in it and apply it in their field of study? To answer that question is very simple – nobody wants to admit that they're wrong in their thinking. They will do all they can to prove they were and are right. They will create a new language to cloud their minds and confuse the public. They will require their students to be the best of the best so they can learn and memorize this new language and system of doing things. What they're teaching doesn't hold against sound principles. One example is their search for the so called "cure" of cancer. They do walks, marathons, 5k runs to raise awareness so they can raise more money to research for the "cure". They have failed. We have more people dying of cancer than ever before. The standard treatment for cancer is CHEMOtherapy or RADIATION therapy. Both of which can and do cause cancer. The logical question which comes up is "How can something that causes cancer, cure or fix cancer?”. We would recommend you ponder on this point and answer it for yourself. Obviously, most people will try and use their education to validate cancer care. Trust your INNATE it knows how to get rid of cancer or any other dis-ease (dis-harmony) in your body once the interference or blockage is removed from the brain to the tissue cell.
If you have tooth pain should you go to the dentist every 5 hours to get an injection so you don't feel the pain? Or should you go to a massage therapist to massage your gums? Or should you go to a physiotherapist to do ultrasound on your gums to numb your pain? Or should you go to get acupuncture around your painful tooth? Or should you go to Swiss Chriopractor to prescribe OTC pain killers? Or should you go to the medical doctor to get strong medications to completely numb your pain? Or should you find what's causing your tooth pain and remove the cause?
Looking forward to your response.
